After a grand success of Pune Everest2012 and Lhotse Everest2013m, Giripremi's team today left for another adventure of the extreme scale. This time the goal is to reach the top of the fifth highest mountain in the world Mt. Makalu (8481M). The team of five members is led by Mr. Umesh Zirpe. Ashish Mane and Anand Mali will be the climbing team members supported by Ajit Tate and Bhushan Harshe.
In a small ceremony at the Giripremi's office at Apte road students of the Vidya Valley School handed over the schools flag along with sponsorship amount to Anand Mali. Anand is working at Vidya Valley School as a sports teacher and the school has sponsored him for this expedition. Speaking at this occasion Mr. Umesh Zirpe said, "Climbing on the fifth highest mountain in the world will be a challenging expedition. We have prepared ourselves well for this 60 days expedition. And with the blessings of our well-wishers we are confident that we will return safe and successfully." Director of the Vidya Valley School Mr. Vivek Gupta, Principal Smt. Nalini Sengupta, Mr. Kishor Panda from United India Insurance Company, Mr. S. P. Wakankar, Mr. Vijay Joshi from CUBIX Microsystem, Smt. Poonam Kirloskar from FILTRUM, Mr. Anand Palande and Smt. Ushaprabha Page (both founder member Giripremi) along with Giripremi supporters wished the team best of luck for their endeavour.
Mountaineering is an extreme sport. It's play grounds are far from the civilization. It demands high quality equipment for safety and survival. It's probably the sport which has longest time frame. Generally, an expedition continues for several days and sometime months. All these factors impose a burden off high costs on this sport.
