At 6:15 AM on 26.6.2016, Sunday #Avhaan #Nirmaan #Udaan 2016-17 kicked off with huge response.
80 participants alongwith 10 GGIM instructors trekked to Fort Shivneri. While Nirmaan trek to Rajmachi fort consisted of 47 participants with 6 GGIM instructors. And seeing the brimming confidence and energy of all Avhaan Nirmaan kids, 17 parents participated in a trek to Tamhini Ghat along with 3 GGIM instructors. In all more than 150 mountain lovers trekked to various locations of Sahyadri as a part of ANU 2016-17 on 26th June.
And today at 6:15 AM, Team Udaan embarked on their training for mountaineering & rock climbing at Parvati.
In all, it has been a great start of the #ANU programme and it will continue to expand more! :)
Mountaineering is an extreme sport. It's play grounds are far from the civilization. It demands high quality equipment for safety and survival. It's probably the sport which has longest time frame. Generally, an expedition continues for several days and sometime months. All these factors impose a burden off high costs on this sport.
