EXPEDITION IN OUR WORDS

As you must be aware that after the grand success of Pune Everest 2012 and Lhotse Everest 2013, Giripremi has now planned an ambitious expedition to Mt. Makalu (8481 m) in April - May 2014. Mt. Makalu is world's 5th highest mountain and Giripremi's 'Makalu 2014' expedition would be the first Civilian expedition from India.

With your help and support, Giripremi has been able to promote Mountaineering Sports in Maharashtra in past Two years. We wish to take Indian Mountaineering to global standards by scaling difficult heights. We request you to kindly associate with our next project of Taking Indian Tricolor to another high Mountain.

  • Giripremi scales Mt. Makalu Third Eight-Thousander in a row

    Great day in the History of Indian Mountaineering....

    After a row of difficulties and challenges, Giripremi team waves Indian Tricolor on the top of Mt. Makalu (ht- 8481m). Giripremi becomes the only Mountaineering Club from India to scale 3 Eight-Thousanders in a row.... Congratulations to the team Umesh Zirpe(Leader), Ashish Mane, Anand Mali, Ajit Tate and thanks to all Sponsors, well- wishers and supporters.

  • 26th March: Makalu Expedition team set off for from Pune

    After a grand success of Pune Everest2012 and Lhotse Everest2013m, Giripremi's team today left for another adventure of the extreme scale. This time the goal is to reach the top of the fifth highest mountain in the world Mt. Makalu (8481M). The team of five members is led by Mr. Umesh Zirpe. Ashish Mane and Anand Mali will be the climbing team members supported by Ajit Tate and Bhushan Harshe.

Mountaineering is an extreme sport. It's play grounds are far from the civilization. It demands high quality equipment for safety and survival. It's probably the sport which has longest time frame. Generally, an expedition continues for several days and sometime months. All these factors impose a burden off high costs on this sport.
