The peak

Mt. Nun is located in Suru valley near Kargil in Leh area of J&K Himalaya. Mt. Nun is one of the technically difficult seven thousander peaks, which is always challenging to the mountaineers. The climb is technically difficult and risky especially in the icefall zone before the plateau because it has very big hidden crevasses at an altitude of 5600mts.

  3. Do Indians consider everything to be an “expedition”. For Christ sake, calling a bicycle trip and expedition is a bit over the top. It’s not big of a deal. Outside of India, nobody considers a cycling trip as an expedition. Seems like you guys like to talk big for seriously easy undertakings. If you want a challenge, try unclimbed routes. What a joke!

Mountaineering is an extreme sport. It's play grounds are far from the civilization. It demands high quality equipment for safety and survival. It's probably the sport which has longest time frame. Generally, an expedition continues for several days and sometime months. All these factors impose a burden off high costs on this sport.
