Every year, 11th Dec is world wide celebrated as International Mountain Day to pay respect to the mountains and promote importance of the mountains and its ecology to mankind. 

The state of Maharashtra (India) has been blessed with ‘Sahyadri Mountain Ranges’. The whole ‘Western Ghats’ region (Sahyadri Mountain Ranges are part of the Western Ghats) has very high bio-diversity and has been recognised as a UNESCO heritage.

As every year, Giripremi too celebrates this unique moment to pay its tribute to the mountain goddess. Mountain Pooja will be performed at one of the famous rock climbing crag in the city. 

Additionally, three more social events are being conducted for creating awareness for protecting the mountains and its biodiversity.
