International Mountain Day Celebration Details

Giripremi is one of the pioneer mountaineering organizations in India. Based in Pune, an important city in western India, the club has 11 members who have summited Mt. Everest and the club has successfully scaled the world’s six ‘Eight Thousanders’ - eight-thousand-Meter-high peaks. The vision of Giripremi is to promote love towards mountain and mountaineering in Indian society. We also work towards the upliftment of mountain people specifically in Khumbu valley in the Himalayas and the Western Ghats in India through the promotion of mountain tourism and children education.

Giripremi’s Kanchenjunga Eco Project 2019

After six consecutive ascents of 8000 meter high mountains of the world including Mt. Everest (The Highest mountain of the world), Mt. Lhotse (4th Highest mountain of the world), Mt. Makalu (5th Highest), Mt. Cho Oyu (6th Highest), Mt. Dhaulagiri (7th Highest) and Mt. Manaslu (8th Highest). Continuing this Quest of Eight Thousandars, we have planned next ambitious expedition to the highest and crown mountain of India, Mt. Kangchenjunga (8586 metres), the 3rd highest mountain of the world. This expedition is scheduled during April-May 2019. Our mission is to attempt all the FOURTEEN highest mountains in the world one by oneand take the Mountaineering in India to a global level.
