About Expedition

Mt. Annapurna I is world’s 10th highest and one of the most technically challenging 8000er expeditions. At a staggering height of 8091 m, annapurna I is notoriously known for avalanche hazards.

Giripremi’s highly experienced team of 4 members left to Kathmandu on 14th Mar 2021. It was supposed to be a 45 days expedition from the north side of the peak but team finished the task just in 25 days.

Braving the odds of ferrocious winds, might crevasse fields, steep ascents, and nonetheless notorious Avalanches, on 16th Apr 2021, Bhushan Harshe, Summit Mandale, and Jitendra Gaware made it to the top of Annapurna and brought Giripremi its 8th 8000er summit.

  • Tenth highest mountain in the world.
  • One of the most technically difficult mountains. Yet Annapurna was the first of all 14 8000ers to be summitted.
  • On 3 June 1950, Maurice Herzog (leader of the French expedition) & Louis Lanchenal reached the top of Annapurna I.
  • The entire massif and surrounding area are protected within the 7,629-square-kilometre (2,946 sq mi) Annapurna Conservation Area, the first and largest conservation area in Nepal.
